Flect respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how your information is handled when you use the app.

1. Overview
Flect is designed to be a minimal, privacy-focused journaling experience. Journal entries may be securely stored and synced through Flect’s backend services to support account access, synchronization across devices, and premium features. We do not sell or share personal data for advertising or tracking purposes.


2. Information You Provide

When you use Flect, you may create journal entries and optionally provide authentication information such as an email address or Sign in with Apple credentials.

Journal entries may be securely stored on your device and/or Flect’s backend systems to support account access, synchronization across devices, caching, and app functionality. Local device caching may also be used to improve performance and offline access. We do not use journal entries for advertising purposes or sell personal information to third parties. Flect may require account authentication using email sign-in or Sign in with Apple in order to access features such as synchronization and premium functionality. Authentication credentials are securely handled through Apple and/or secure third-party authentication services.


3. Data Collection
Flect does not collect:

  • Unnecessary personal information beyond what is required for authentication, subscriptions, and app functionality

  • Usage analytics (unless added in a future version with consent)

  • Location data

  • Contacts or other device data


We aim to collect as little data as possible.

4. Payments
If you purchase premium features, payments are processed by Apple through the App Store.

  • We do not collect or store payment information

  • Transactions are subject to Apple’s terms and privacy practices​

  • ​Subscriptions automatically renew unless canceled through your Apple account settings before the renewal date.
     

5. Data Security

We use reasonable security measures designed to protect your information and journal entries. Data may be securely transmitted to and stored on Flect’s backend systems to support synchronization, account access, and app functionality. Limited local device storage or caching may also be used to improve performance and offline access. While we strive to protect your information, no method of electronic storage or transmission is completely secure.


6. Data Retention

Journal entries and account-related data are retained on Flect's backend systems while your account remains active to support synchronization and app functionality.

You may delete your account at any time through the app's Settings menu. When you delete your account, your account information and associated journal entries will be permanently deleted from Flect's backend systems within a reasonable period, except where retention is required by applicable law or to comply with legal obligations.

Any locally cached data stored on your device may remain until the app is deleted or the device cache is cleared.


7. Children’s Privacy
Flect does not knowingly collect personal information from children. The app is intended for general audiences.

8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Continued use of the app after changes means you accept the updated policy.
